Bloom with Psychology was born out of an internal call to action for the mental health disparities I observed in my borough. Many individuals and families were struggling with limited access to mental health resources, a lack of understanding about mental health issues, with valid trust issues and stigma-related issues surrounding these challenges. In response, I initiated a series of community talks linked in with charity organisations aimed at raising awareness, providing accurate information and fostering a supportive environment for those in need once I became qualified and experienced to do so.
A personal and reflective business, supporting the creation of spaces for psycho-education to improve mental health through a scientific and holistic lens. Bloom with Psychology aims to increase access and engagement to mental wellbeing resources within the individual, one’s community and working environments. Services offered are culturally-sensitive and tailored to meet the needs of your audience, with an understanding of the cutting-edge research literature, social and economical influences on health and resource development for well-being.

Founder of Bloom with Psychology:
Hi I'm Leah-Marie Simon, a Clinical Associate in Psychology with Full Membership status at the British Psychological Society. With a passion for supporting the cultivation of mental well-being, I specialise in facilitating mental health conversations and providing interventions for complex emotional needs and trauma work to young people and adults.
I proudly identify as a Black British woman of Caribbean heritage from Newham, East London. Growing up in a vibrant, diverse and lower socio-economic community, I’ve seen first-hand how social and racial inequalities that influence mental health and access to care. Through personal, generational and community stories, I understand people who share even two of my named identities can often face multiple barriers to receiving support, largely due to unconscious bias in policy and practice. Many struggle with a lack of understanding about mental health issues and limited resources, compounded by valid mistrust and stigma.
Mental health is important at every stage of life from childhood and adolescence through to older adulthood. It affects how we think, feel and behave. Everybody deserves mental health support when they need it - that’s why it’s important that we talk about it.
I also have experience in successfully spearheading community inclusion projects and working partnerships with charity and grassroots organisations. My career journey balances both clinical practice, responsibility and community psychology principles, which can often overlap, synergise and conflict, making for a nuanced approach in my day to day working.
Beyond my professional life, I delve into the world of herbal medicine, sharing years of expertise in studying medicinal herbs, aromatherapy and tinctures. Guiding others interested in these botanicals, especially for common health ailments provides me a sense of motivation and fulfilment. To maintain my mental well-being, I find solace in practicing martial arts, enhancing physical strength, philosophy, flexibility and mindfulness. Drawing on skills inherited from my Caribbean family, I also enjoy gardening and taking care of my indoor jungle!

Mission Statement
My mission is to nurture the growth of strong, resilient communities by planting the seeds of mental health awareness and delivering empowering, accessible education. Just as a garden flourishes with knowledge, care and tailored tools and techniques, I believe that mental well-being thrives when people come together to support and uplift one another. Through educational services and community engagement, we aim to empower communities to come together, to remind that they can break the stigma surrounding mental health and create a culture of compassion, resilience and support. I am committed to building vibrant, connected communities where mental health is valued, nurtured and celebrated, ensuring that no one has to face their challenges alone. Together, we thrive - we bloom.
